The beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen Morocco! The blue city is a day trip outside of Tangier or Fez. This city is awesome! It's clearly known for its various shades of blue buildings and walls throughout the city.
My wife and I took a day excursion through our hotel (Kenzi Solazur Hotel) from Tangier to to Chefchaouen. Our tour guide was able to answer all our tourist questions like, "Why is Chefchaouen blue?" and "What are the top things to do in Chefchaouen?"
Some locals say the city is blue to follow Jewish customs and culture, and others believe keeps the mosquitoes away. I can work with both answers. The best part about Chefchaouen Morocco was just walking around. We got a great view from just right outside the city to see the depth of blue from afar. I was particularly interested in seeing all the different styles of blue doors! The doors were crazy beautiful, so I took pics of atleast 30 different styles of front doors. The locals told us they paint the city blue every couple months to make sure it stays fresh. I'd only recommend one day in Chefchaouen Morocco, there's not a whole lot to do in the city but it's absolutely worth seeing how pretty it is.
