"I believe that the Moroccan style is a style which is a great fusion between many influences as the European influence of the '30s which comes from the history of Morocco under the (French) protectorate; the more ethnic influence with its Berber element of the Moroccan population, which is closer to the African graphics, and so is a little more geometric; and the more Oriental side, which is a Moorish-Andalusian style more designed, more ornate which is the essence of what people see as the Arab style. So, because of all those influences, the Moroccan style allows any person that is a little bit creative to express itself. "

"For someone like me, who is an engineer, it's like a dream which comes true because you can do whatever you want. Because the artisans here can do anything they'd like so you can create any shapes, anything you want. And riads are wonderful places to do that. That's the reason why we've bought one, because we wanted to create a wonderful Moroccan riad but still have the comfort of a contemporary feel as well. We wanted to mix it together. But ultimately it will be a Moroccan feeling."

"The Moroccan style, well, the Moroccan architecture has big volumes and has some points of reference as the arcades, some cupolas, and so, if there is a sort of base with a Moroccan structure, inside many things can be integrated. Either a very minimalist universe, very contemporary or a more mix universe. Here there are even some houses where when you go in, you have the impression of having a British comfort with many books, comfortable armchairs, reading lamps, but in the same time we feel it very deep that we are in Morocco".
