This two-part ESL lesson from Morocco is aimed at vocabulary expansion.
00:23 Warm-up (with travel footage)
01:20 Part 1: What is a double consonant?
02:05 Assistant Bader tells all the double consonants, with illustrations.
02:25 Part 2: How many double consonants can you count?
(Examples with video footage from Marrakesh and Essaouira)
Part 1 introduces the meaning of a “double consonant”. After travelling from Marrakesh to Essaouira, viewers can learn the meaning of the word “double” and how it is different from “a couple” (a phrase from the previous video). After that, the meaning of a “consonant” (versus a vowel) is presented, and by putting them together, discoveries of double consonants ensue.
In Part 2, we look at example sentences containing double consonants and count how many we can find! We review phrases from the last video which answer the question “How many?”.
